HISTORY

Stendhal
The start of a dream: the improvement of human health

In 1997, a group of investors with commercial abilities and knowledge on the pharmaceutical market, provided innovation and social responsibility for renovating Específicos Stendhal, a pharmaceutical company founded in Mexico in 1974.  An integral transformation, with new philosophical and business strategies shaped the current pharmaceutical company we are today.

In 2003, the company invested heavily with the purpose of remodeling its production plant, reaching the highest world-class standards in reference to Good Manufacturing Practices, Conditioning, Storage, Distribution and Product Control.  That same year, Stendhal achieved its first strategic alliance allowing for the introduction of HIV/AIDS products into the Mexican market becoming the backbone for the majority of therapeutic schemes.

In 2004, the marketing operations of the new era at Stendhal started with our Business Unit focused on antiretrovirals.  Stendhal’s antiretrovirals have been marketed in Central America since 2008.

In 2008 2008, Stendhal achieves a second strategic alliance for two products used for the treatment of multiple sclerosis and the creation in 2009, of the Neurosciences Business Unit.

In 2009 2009, there is the merging/acquisition of Especificos Stendhal and the Venezuelan company Eicopen Pharma de Latinoamérica, constituting Stendhal Internacional as a holding company for Grupo Stendhal and Stendhal Américas, and as a branch in charge of marketing throughout all countries outside of Mexico.  This way, Stendhal consolidates its presence throughout Latin America, while maintaining its solid philosophy and vision.

Thanks to this strategy, Stendhal is in a position as an undisputed regional leader in therapeutic areas such as HIV and Multiple Sclerosis, and in others that without a doubt, we will continue to search for future developments to come.
